Fantasy Basketball Picks: Top DraftKings NBA DFS Lineup Strategy for All-Star Game Showdown. Alex Hunter gives his top lineup advice for Sunday’s fantasy basketball Showdown contest on DraftKings between Team LeBron and Team Durant, which starts at 8:00 p.m.

Last night was a success with my NBA summer league DFS picks at DraftKings. I personally didn’t win huge money, but I did cash with Kevin Knox (44 fantasy points!) and Mitchell Robinson (29) carrying me to a win to close out the night.

I had a slew of solid daily fantasy basketball picks, as Grayson Allen (30), Wendell Carter (38), Gary Trent (26) and Chandler Hutchinson (25) all worked out nicely. It was ironically my two Miami Heat players that failed me and kept me from winning big money.

If you pivoted off of Derrick Walton Jr. and Rashad Vaughn and kept the rest of these daily fantasy basketball summer league picks, you could have been swimming in some serious cash.

While last night was fun, I hope to deliver even better results tonight. Remember, consider avoiding players with any ailments or that will be at risk of resting, especially guys that played last night or have had multiple games in the last three or four days.

You’ll also want to keep tabs on players on social media and read up on local team sites to see if there is any news that will shed a light on player availability.

The easiest call on this 8-game slate is just avoiding guys who played on Tuesday.

For me, that largely takes Hawks, Bulls and Kings players out of the equation. Options like Trae Young, Omari Spellman, Chandler Hutchinson, Wendell Carter, Justin Jackson, Harry Giles and Frank Mason stand out as big name players that could be rested or limited.

As tempting as those options may be, I’ll likely avoid them on such a big slate. Considering cheap bench options on their respective teams is one option to afford high-priced players, although that admittedly carries considerable risk.

With all that said, here’s my favorite NBA DFS picks for tonight’s NBA summer league action:

PG: Monte Morris – Denver Nuggets ($6.7k)

Trae Young, Aaron Holiday and Collin Sexton are the top options at the position, but everyone will be on them and Young might not even play after hitting the hardwood last night. I’ll just make it easier on myself and pivot to Morris, who is cheaper than the lot of them and is putting up over 30 fantasy points per game.

Morris has been great for Denver, showing a knack for scoring and setting up the open man. He’s logged 26+ minutes in all three of his NBA summer league games so far and blew up for 41 fantasy points in his last contests. He last played two days ago, too, so he should be rested and ready to rock today.

SG: De’Anthony Melton – Houston Rockets ($6.9k)

Another guard I like is Houston’s Melton, who has really flashed nice scoring ability and went nuts (55 fantasy points) in his last outing. He’s getting his hands on all kinds of stats and has twice logged over 31 minutes.

There is mild risk for rest here with Houston playing back-to-back games on July 8th and 9th, but it’s been two days since he hit the floor. He’s a viable pivot off of the top guard options, as he’s putting up over 36 fantasy points per game so far.

SF: Devin Robinson – Washington Wizards ($5.7k)

Troy Brown is easily the biggest name for the Washington Wizards summer league squad, but I have much more interest in Robinson. Not only is he way cheaper, but he’s averaging just three fewer fantasy points per contest.

Robinson has flexed his scoring muscle with 22 and 24 actual points in his last two games and he’s had a consistent role this summer. I expect the G-League alum to continue to prove his worth as he tries to get a call-up this year.

PF: Tyler Lydon – Denver Nuggets ($6.2k)

There are certainly a few spots on this slate where people will gravitate toward players simply based on name recognition. Lydon is one of those spots, but I don’t mind if he’s chalky given the value he offers.

Lydon is working his way back from a knee injury and was even rested a few days ago, but he last played on the 9th and he’s still waiting for that big blow-up outing. He’s such a gifted shooter an scorer that I think it’s still coming in the near future, so if he can approach the 26 minutes he saw in his last game, we might see it tonight.

C: T.J. Leaf – Indiana Pacers ($6.2k)

The same goes for Leaf, although he already popped off this summer with 17 and 20 actual points scored over his last two games. He’s looked good offensively and should look to keep the positive momentum rolling. He’s more of a perimeter player, but you get center availability and I see no reason why we shouldn’t exploit it.

There are better center options to be had on this slate. Ante Zizic and Willy Hernangomez have been absolute monsters. The problem is these guys are super pricey and I prefer balance over chasing studs in a summer league setting.

G: Chris Chiozza – Washington Wizards ($6.3k)

Nba summer league draftkings picks odds

I love Chiozza today, as he’s churned out almost 30 fantasy points per game almost solely as a distributor. His 9 dimes per game may not exactly be sustainable, but it’s extremely encouraging how well he’s done with his playmaking and that he can rack up fantasy points without actually scoring much himself.

Chiozza was not a high profile scorer at Florida, but he absolutely can get buckets and can rack up steals and assists. I have no qualms about chasing steals and dimes here and also hoping he pops off for his best scoring out of the summer.

F: Kostas Antetokounmpo – Dallas Mavericks ($4.7k)

The younger brother of The Greek Freak is one of my favorite NBA DFS summer league picks of this slate, seeing as Dallas has not given him much of a leash yet and he’ll probably go overlooked.

The good news is he did log 15 minutes of court time in his last game and did a ton (4-7-3-2-1 stat line) while out there.

That tells me that even if he remains limited, there’s a decent chance his versatile skill-set can have him return strong value. And if the Mavs actually let the kid play and prove himself? Well, then we just might have the steal of the day.

Draftkings season long league

Util: Miles Bridges – Charlotte Hornets ($7.1k)

I could wrap this up with a number of guys, but I like Bridges due to an eclectic skill-set and his high energy play. He is a stat-stuffer even though he hasn’t really shown that this summer. At a bare minimum, he has the ability to hit the glass and score and he showed that with 34.75 fantasy points in his most recent game.

I think there’s room for him to pile on some blocks, steals and assists as well, so it’s possible we’ve yet to see his best summer league performance.

There are a slew of options to consider tonight and you’re going to need to do some research to make sure all of your guys are even playing. If you don’t love all of the picks above, pivot as needed.

Hopefully I steer you in the right direction and we all can win some cash at DraftKings tonight. Good luck!

After a nice two-day run where my NBA DFS summer league picks safely cashed, last night was a big whiff job.

Grayson Allen getting scratched completely changed things for me late in the day (sorry I wasn’t able to give a heads up, but hopefully you caught the news), while Bucks rookie guard Donte DiVincenzo was a bust in just 11 minutes of action.

I still delivered some solid daily fantasy basketball advice, though, as Mitchel Robinson was just 16% owned and poured in 51 fantasy points. There were a few other solid picks, as Anfernee Simons chipped in 29 fantasy points and D.J. Wilson was strong with 36.5 of his own.

It wasn’t my best lineup of NBA DFS picks, but hopefully you pivoted in the right spots and found a way to cash.

Your chances to win big in daily fantasy basketball summer league contests are dwindling, so join me as I try to create a winning roster for Friday’s eight-game slate at DraftKings:

PG: Trae Young – Atlanta Hawks ($7.8k)

After resting last night (as predicted), Young should be back to provide NBA DFS summer league gamers with an elite late-game hammer. He’s obviously a big star and could be sat again, but you’re assuming risk with literally anyone you use.

I’ll just assume since he’s been given good run and just rested that he’ll be back out there. He’s been great from a fantasy perspective, averaging almost 32 fantasy points per contest. I want all of the Trae Young shares to close out this slate.

SG: Mitch Creek – Dallas Mavericks ($4.5k)

I also wouldn’t mind Melvin Frazier or a Spurs spare SG here, but I’m trying to cram in all of my favorite plays. A dive or two will be necessary to get the team I want and I don’t mind trying out Creek, who should soak up some guard minutes with Luka Doncic and Dennis Smith Jr. not playing for Dallas.

Creek hasn’t blown up yet this summer, but he’s been a pro in Australia and there could be minutes for the taking tonight.

SF: Devin Robinson – Washington Wizards ($7k)

Robinson put up 40 fantasy points his last time out and has proven to be a very good scorer (21.5 points per game) all summer long. After getting the day off yesterday, he’s a threat to pop off again tonight. He’s one of my favorite plays on the board and is a fun pivot off of some of the pricey, big name options.

PF: Alize Johnson – Indiana Pacers ($6.3k)

I really like how much of a double-double threat Johnson is. He was a monster on the glass in college and he’s looked super steady so far with Indy, averaging over 27 fantasy points through four summer contests.

T.J. Leaf is banged up and could be out, which only further cements Johnson for me. He’s scored in double figures each game and if he can grab 10+ rebounds I think he’ll return killer value at this price.

C: Dakari Johnson – Oklahoma City Thunder ($5.8k)

College Football Draftkings Picks

This is one of my favorite NBA DFS picks of tonight’s eight-game slate. Some are speculating Johnson could be traded after not playing last night, but he appeared to fall in his last game and hurt his hip. Either possibility makes him a rest candidate again tonight, but he’s been too good to bypass.

The price is great and Johnson has feasted at times this summer, easily scoring inside and rebounding, blocking shots and swiping steals. He’s a complete lock for me unless news trickles out he’s for sure out.

Harry Giles ($7.1k) is also on my radar tonight at the center spot. There is some fear of Johnson going up against Mohamed Bamba tonight, but he’ll get a nice boost if the Texas star sits out with a lingering ailment.

G: Shai Gilgeous-Alexander – Los Angeles Clippers ($7.8k)

SGA is another high-priced guy I covet and much like Trae Young, he is both a late-game hammer and could go overlooked since he didn’t play yesterday. Some risk averse DFS gamers may shy away from him, but he’s been awesome (36.7 fantasy points per game) and could be a fun guy to close out the night with.

F: Tyler Lydon – Denver Nuggets ($6.6k)

Lydon has been a staple of my daily fantasy basketball summer league lineups. He’s a gifted shooter that can score in a variety of ways and also cleans the glass pretty well. He recorded 34.5 fantasy points his last time out even though he scored just six actual points.

I think the scoring upside could shine through tonight if Lydon gets the chance, and judging by his run (26+ minutes in his last two games), that’s a decent bet.

Nba Summer League Draftkings Picks Week 9

Util: Kenrich Williams – Denver Nuggets ($4.2k)

There are so many guys that get scratched, are limited or just plain struggle, that I don’t mind punting 1-2 spots to open things up from a salary perspective. Williams is part of that process and the good news is he’s at least been getting run for Denver.

He’s only averaging 10.7 fantasy points per game, but he’s logged 21+ minutes in each of his last three games. If he can simply start connecting on his shot (2 for his last 11), he could return nice value at this price.

Nba Summer League Draftkings Picks Wk

Williams is capable of scoring, as he averaged 13 points per game in his final year at TCU, connecting on 39% of his long range shots. If he can randomly get hot, this will be a huge steal and open the door to a big night.

There is risk across the board, as the NBA summer league is slowly winding down. A lot of big names will be rested or limited, but after a couple of my guys sat out on Thursday, I like the idea of going back to them tonight.

Hopefully it all works out and you can cash in the process. Whatever you decide, I wish you luck today!
