Clippers Vs Timberwolves Prediction
- This is a Pros vs. Joes scenario in the Trail Blazers-Clippers total market: 79% of the money is on the Under while 63% of the bets placed are on the Over, according to Pregame.com. The money side of the market is generally sharper than the bets/tickets column and for that reason, I lean UNDER 225.5 (-110) for a quarter-unit.

The Clippers have been one of the best teams in the NBA all season. At 17-8, they’re currently in third place in the Western Conference. They’ll begin a quick two-game road trip tonight in Minnesota, taking on the Timberwolves. It’s been a forgetful season in Minneapolis, as their 6-18 record has them dead last in the conference.

For the first time all season, the Clippers have lost back-to-back games. They were the last team in the NBA to accomplish that. Now, let’s hope they don’t go for their third straight. The Clippers kick off a quick two-game road trip tonight in Minnesota. Luckily, the T’Wolves are one of the worst teams in the league.
However, this isn’t a team that should be slept on. After missing the last 13 games due to COVID protocols, Karl-Anthony Towns is expected to return for Minnesota tonight. They went 3-10 in his absence and can desperately use him back. On the season, though in a limited amount of games, he’s averaging more than 22 points per game to go along with more than 12 rebounds and three blocks. When he’s on the court, he’s a difference maker.
In his absence, Minnesota has been getting production from Malik Beasley, who is playing like an All-Star this season. He’s averaging more than 20 points per game and is shooting just under 40 percent from deep. D’Angelo Russell is also having a solid season as well, as he’s averaging 19 points with five assists. Rookie Anthony Edwards has looked great to start his career. He’s averaging 14 points a game, leading all rookies.
The Clippers will be without Paul George yet again. His absence has showed just how valuable he truly is to the team, as LA hasn’t looked the same without him. Things could have been different had he been out there the last two games, but I doubt LA loses two straight if he was healthy.
This will be the second matchup this season between these two teams. Minnesota came to LA back in December. The Clippers handled them with ease, beating them 124-101. Looking back at that game, only one Clipper scored at least 20 points... and it was Lou Williams of all players. His best game of the season came against Minnesota.
This will be a different look though compared to that game. LA will be without George and Minnesota will have Towns back. Tonight should be a game the Clippers take care of, but don’t overlook this young Minnesota team. They’ve lost four of their last five games, but those four losses have come by a combined 12 points!

MINNEAPOLIS -- — Kawhi Leonard had a season-high 36 points and Lou Williams added 27 points off the bench as the Los Angeles Clippers defeated Minnesota 119-112 on Wednesday night and spoiled the return of Timberwolves star Karl-Anthony Towns.
Leonard and Williams hit shots down the stretch, including a pair of late 3-pointers by Leonard, to thwart Minnesota’s comeback try. Los Angeles snapped its first two-game losing streak of the season.
After trailing by six at halftime, the Clippers outscored Minnesota 33-20 in the third quarter as Los Angeles pulled away.
“We kind of turned it up in that second quarter and third quarter,” Leonard said. “We needed a better fourth quarter, but I'm happy we got the win.”
Towns had 18 points and 10 rebounds in his return to action after missing 13 games. Towns announced on Jan. 15 that he tested positive for COVID-19 and remained on the league’s health and safety protocol list until Wednesday, when coach Ryan Saunders said Towns was a game-time decision.
“I thought he competed,” Saunders said. 'His wind was good; 18 and 10 coming back from a layoff like he did was a good night for him.”
Towns detailed his bout with COVID in his postgame comments, noting that underlying conditions made his battle with the virus especially tough. His mother, Jacqueline, died from virus complications last April.
“I'm a high-risk case. COVID did not treat me well whatsoever,' Towns said. “A lot of scary nights. My dad called me 24/7.”
Wednesday was Towns' first game in nearly a month. He last played on Jan. 13.
“I was just smiling on the court, even when it got to the end, because I was just so proud of myself to get to this point,' Towns said. “It's been a long process.”
Naz Reid led Minnesota with 23 points off the bench, and Malik Beasley added 21. The Timberwolves have lost three in a row and eight of 10.
Minnesota led by as many as 13 points in the first half before watching its lead disappear. The Timberwolves' bench built up the first-half lead behind strong efforts from Jaylen Nowell and rookie Jaden McDaniels.
Trailing at the half, the Clippers used an 11-3 run to take the lead early in the third quarter. Leonard scored 10 of Los Angeles’ 33 points in the third and the Clippers carried an eight-point lead into the fourth quarter.
“There’s a reason they’re the best third-quarter team in the league,” Saunders said. “They came out and they played like a team that’s a championship contender.”
Patrick Beverley returned for the Clippers following an eight-game absence with a right knee injury. Beverley started Wednesday’s game and finished with six points
The Clippers welcomed back Beverley's vocal leadership on the court, something they missed while he was out..
Clippers Vs Timberwolves Prediction Monday Night Football
“It was good seeing Pat back out there,” Lue said. 'He's our emotional leader. Just seeing how hard he plays every night and competes, we needed that.
While Towns was back for the Wolves, guard D’Angelo Russell remained sidelined with left leg soreness. Towns and Russell have played just five games together since Minnesota acquired Russell in a trade on Feb. 6, 2020. Russell remains day-to-day.
